Founded in 1989, Star Programs Inc. has grown to operate three distinct programs.
  • Summer Camp
  • Child Placing Agency
  • Residential Treatment Center

 

 

In each effort Star Programs focuses on children who face multiple challenges in life. The children served have difficulty in educationally related areas. Most have problems with learning disabilities, attention difficulties, hyperactivity, cognitive development, or they are developmentally delayed. Additionally, almost all are emotionally fragile due to past life experiences. Most of the children have abuse issues. Each program operated by Star Programs has a Christian focus. Our goal is to help children heal, and in the process, to introduce them to Jesus Christ.

 

Our Mission

To bring Christ to a special group of children.

Our first priority is to introduce children to Jesus Christ. But, before we can do that, we first have to clothe them, feed them, love them, and make them understand that we really care. Sometimes this is difficult. Sometimes with the background and emotional baggage they arrive with, it takes several months, even years, before the children can begin to trust again. Without trust and love, not much can be accomplished. 

Company Profile

Star Ranch was founded by Rand and Colleen Southard in 1989. The Southards have made it their life goal to heal and harbor special needs children that have nowhere else to go. Star Ranch specializes in dealing with children that have multiple learning disabilities and that have been severely abused and neglected. Many of the boys we serve will spend the rest of their childhood at Star Ranch.
